Who am I?
I’m Austin Day, a music producer and mixer with nearly two decades of experience crafting aggressive, emotional, and immersive soundscapes for rock and metal artists. I started in 2006 making simple “drag and drop” beats before quickly diving into recording and mixing my own tracks. Over the years, that curiosity turned into a full-on obsession—and eventually, a profession.
Growing up, I was shaped by artists like Pink Floyd, Black Sabbath, and CCR. Later on, the raw energy of early nu-metal pulled me in deeper. Those roots still show up in my work today: emotionally-driven, punchy, and intentionally crafted to hit hard and stay with you.
I’ve worked on hundreds of songs since then—each one a chance to help an artist not just create a track, but define their sound. I approach every mix like I’m joining the band. Not to take over, but to help you bring out exactly what you want people to feel.
Because that’s the goal:
A great mix shouldn’t just sound good—it should make you feel something.
My studio vibe is laid back but focused. You bring the passion; I’ll bring the clarity and impact. I work best with artists who love what they’re doing and want to push their music to its full potential. I’m honest, collaborative, and always down to try your ideas—even if it’s just to see what happens.
Outside the studio, I’m a family man, a gym rat, and a bit of a nerd. When I’m not mixing, I’m probably chasing my kids, lifting heavy things, or getting lost building weird games in Unreal Engine.
If you’re looking for someone to treat your song with the same intensity and respect you do, I’m here for it.
